Librias

  • year: 2012

Librias is a book as a shelf. A minimalistic object where the book “floats” at the wall.
The big brother is Librias is Booklynbridge.
In this case, the “invisible” supports are made by two wood blocks. The hardcovers hide them, and camouflage themselves among the other books.
On the inner side of the hardcover, a strap made of spring-steel ensures the binding to the wood block.
The glass shelf is almost invisible, suggesting that the books are floating in the air.
Libria is a design product, but also a manifesto: it highlights the role of culture as sustenance for man’s life.

Hammokum

  • year: 2008

The Hammokum is specially designed for the “Amsterdammers”.
Most fo the houses in the dutch capital have no balcony and the high urban density make very scars the availability of an intimate space.
In the hammokum you can relax, sleep, work, read,…or just enjoy the sun and the space around you.

Hammokum is a combiantion of these two words: hammock (sling made of fabric suspended between two points)+ Mokum (nickname for Amsterdam)
